The Gray-headed Albatross (Thalassarche chrysostoma) is drastically declining in population and is listed as an endangered species by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.) It lives in the oceans surrounding Antarctica, and I saw this one soaring over the Drake Passage, the stretch of water between the tip of South America and Antarctica.
